Our World Tuesday 25: camouflage

Desert camouflage clothing, worn by members of the Canadian and British military who practice desert warfare in our part of Alberta, is beige and tan, so the individuals blend into the landscape just as well as these deer, who would actually blend in even more if they didn't have white tails.

He does fade from view. If there were snow on the ground he might be in trouble.

I wonder why they have those white tails. They must have evolved with them because it was helpful for something?

Great shots of the deer. It is interesting how animals are adapted to blend into their landscape.
