Book Blurb Friday: Blue Eyes Crying

The blue eyes haunted Michael wherever he went. He’d close his own eyes, just to rest them, and her eyes would be there, boring bluely into his soul.
How long would he have to live, how old would he have to be, before the eyes of his twin ceased to meet him wherever he went?
They had been so young when she had disappeared, only four years old, and he hardly comprehended what his father told him. “While we were out fishing, Mikey, your mother and your sister got lost.” Lost? But they were home, his mother taking care of Meka, who had a bad cough.
Policemen had come to the house, and returned a few times, but only one of them kept coming back, saying, “I won’t give up.”
Will the detective find her, or will he, too, give up?
Blue Eyes Crying by Will E. Nelson, coming soon.

Love the Will E. Nelson play on words. I actually love that song, Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain. (We saw Willie in Vegas years ago and he was terrific.) I like the twin angle, and the hint at something more sinister than just "lost." I always wonder about twins...they do seem to have a special connection to each other beyond the obvious.

I'm hoping that twin ESP will kick in soon - AND that she's not just been bumped off...

You could go many different ways with this, but the sinister route seems the surest!

What a tragedy! I hope he finds his twin. Have a great weekend, dearest Kay. Hugs Jo

I love how you explained from Michael's point of view...makes the conflict more heart-rending and hints at Michael's complex emotions. For a second I forgot this was only a pretend blurb and felt very disappointed to remember I can't just read how it turns out! Please write this one and tell us!

Kay, you gave us a really, really good story. So many questions to be answered here. Were they kidnapped, did they die, did his mom die but his sister is still alive living with her abductor? I am very interested in finding out the rest of the story!

Great job,

Kathy M.

So Willie is a gifted author too? Cool association between his song and the photo.

I'd love to read this one. I know Michael's father has the perfect alibi, but I think he knows more than he is telling. Hurry up and write this one. It's a winner.

Well, what's the answer? When's the book coming out?

Oh my....maybe Michael can help find her!!

With the impending fizzling tropical storm yesterday and not being online much because of preparing for the worst that never came, I'm now trying to catch up on visiting those that visited me. Thanks for taking the time to leave a great comment: MUCH APPRECIATED!!

Have a blessed weekend.

A very sinister plot that makes us consider all the alternatives.
