Camera Critters in Carcassonne, France

While Dick clambered around, exploring the old walled city of Carcassonne, I waited for him in this shady little outdoor cafe a short way down the hill. My wait was made more than bearable by the presence of a big yellow dog. This amiable Yellow Labrador Retriever helped a group of men eat their lunch and also retrieved any stray bits of food cluttering up other parts of the patio floor.
Mallard on the River Aude.

Downpipes in France are often decorated with heads of interesting critters.

A series of murals just downhill from the walled city includes
depictions of critters such as the boar, above, and horse, below.

Dogs have body language too, I can read this one's clearly! :-D Lots of fun critters... you know I like murals, and I've been noticing the decorated downpipes here too.

The murals are a treat and I love the down spout but my favorite photo is the first one. That yellow fellow knew how to go about finding his lunch.

I love the bottom photo :)

I love the canine vacuum cleaner and can remember being very surprised in France and Holland that dogs were allowed into cafés and restaurants. I wish that was the case here, as Lambi LOVES to hover up crumbs :-)

I love that downpipe too! So unusual. I'll bet Dick was thinking of Lindy when he saw that big yellow dog.

Beautiful murals! I had to giggle about the dog who "helped" others eating their lunch - I can imagine! Who can resist the soulful eyes of a Labrador Retriever? (I know for sure that I can't)
